Coração na Mão
"Coração na Mão" surge como o corpo de prova, a conclusão visual no culminar de uma trilogia dedicada à resiliência do afeto. Após a instalação Sopa de Coração, a performance Do Fundo do Coração e a exposição e performance Coração, este trabalho captura a materialização de um sentimento que recusa a invisibilidade, habitando a fronteira ténue entre a intimidade e o domínio público.
As imagens exploram a metáfora de raízes intrincadas que brotam do corpo e de objetos quotidianos, transformando a margem — o lugar do silêncio ou da periferia — num solo fértil de resistência. Aqui, o afeto não é apenas uma emoção, mas uma estrutura viva que invade o espaço. Estar "nas margens" revela-se, assim, como um ato de renascimento constante.
Através de um emaranhado simbólico que une o orgânico ao doméstico, a obra documenta a vitalidade inesgotável daqueles que fazem do próprio coração o pilar de um lugar. É um convite para observar como o amor, quando levado "na mão", se torna a raiz mais profunda e inabalável da existência, florescendo precisamente onde o pessoal se torna político.

Heart in Hand
‘Heart in Hand’ emerges as the body of evidence, the visual conclusion at the culmination of a trilogy dedicated to the resilience of affection. Following the installation Sopa de Coração (Heart Soup), the performance Do Fundo do Coração (From the Bottom of My Heart) and the exhibition and performance Coração (Heart), this work captures the materialisation of a feeling that refuses invisibility, inhabiting the fine line between intimacy and the public sphere.
The images explore the metaphor of intricate roots sprouting from the body and from everyday objects, transforming the margins — the place of silence or the periphery — into fertile ground for resistance. Here, affection is not merely an emotion, but a living structure that invades the space. Being “on the margins” thus reveals itself as an act of constant rebirth.
Through a symbolic entanglement that links the organic with the domestic, the work documents the inexhaustible vitality of those who make their own heart the pillar of a place. It is an invitation to observe how love, when taken ‘by the hand’, becomes the deepest and most unshakeable root of existence, blossoming precisely where the personal becomes political.

MUPI Gallery is a dedicated image gallery that was inaugurated in May 2015 in the foyer of the performance hall at Maus Hábitos. Since then, it has been hosting a diverse program of individual exhibitions by local and international artists in different states of emergence.
The primary objectives of Mupi Gallery are to support the creation of new works and visual experiences while promoting the artistic journey of the invited artists. It challenges them to present a new solo artwork that takes advantage of the unique characteristics and prominent display format. Additionally, it aims to showcase the national contemporary art scene by introducing the solid work of local artists as well as emerging names in the visual arts.
As a gallery dedicated to individual exhibitions, Mupi Gallery complements the artistic programming of Saco Azul/Maus Hábitos. It provides a contrast to the exhibition hall's program, which focuses on artistic encounters and dialogue through collective and crossover exhibitions.
Saco Azul invites one artist per month to occupy the backlit triptych, promoting the creation of works that utilize images as a means of contemporary artistic expression. Through production grants, it affirms or questions the role of images in the present day. Comprising three urban advertising communication Mupis provided by JcDecaux to Maus Hábitos, this gallery is not only interesting for its physical characteristics but also for its cultural impact and inherent commercial connotation. The artist is challenged to react or interact with this structure, embracing all its capabilities and connotations.
