If You Tell A Story You Add More is an exhibition about seafaring and storytelling featuring installations, films, archival research and performances by an international group of artists. It refers to Seafaring, for its speculative potential, generator of myths and legends, and the Portuguese Discoveries, as reporter of the unknown. It addresses the human process of imagination, construction and reinvention recollecting historical events. The artists approach this complexity from different angles, breaking with the romanticized view on seafaring through historical and sociological analysis and elaborating on the metaphor of the Sea as adversity of life itself.
